Happy Summer, Stingers!
I hope you this email finds each of you settled into the best parts of summer. This summer edition of Stinger Stats will share important pre-planning information. Please take a few minutes to read before July 25th!
It’s no surprise there has been LOTS of action on campus this summer. Our construction group, Parrish, has managed the project exceptionally well. While there have been some unexpected surprises during summer construction, each challenge was swiftly resolved to maintain our tight schedule. The crew has spent much of the summer working seven days a week. If this summer has afforded you one gift, I hope it’s been untethered time away from school. By July, many of you fill the pull to begin classroom set-up. With active construction on campus, you will be able to soak up every last minute of summer this year. Enjoy it! 😊
Building Updates
The list of building updates would rival the number of boxes we packed in April/May. Instead of boring you with all of them, I will share the most important!
- NEW Cafeteria Addition is nearly finished!
- Also finished: Roofing, demo (WOWzers, this was something!), replacement HVAC, new plumbing, new electrical wiring.
- Mostly finished: Site grading, Maple Ave. car loop, Outdoor Learning Center, window replacement, framing building modifications (new admin area and old cafeteria location), casework installation.
- Still in progress: Flooring, painting, lighting installation, asphalt/concrete installation.
Move-in Details
We are working on a tight completion schedule. I will notify you the week of July 17th if the building will be accessible for early move-in. For now, you can anticipate the following move-in schedule.

*We are developing plans to organize volunteers and assign support staff to assist classroom teachers with unpacking and classroom set-up.
Pre-planning Dates
The complete pre-planning agenda is attached. It was our primary goal to minimize meetings to only required topics, providing you with as much time as possible for the most important work – preparing for your students! Below are the important dates to mark in your calendar.

Summer PD Shout-outs!

- Kudos to Anna Beaman and Laura Young for successfully completing their M.Ed. this summer!
- Kudos to these teachers for demonstrating their continued commitment to literacy by completing the district’s OG Refresher course this summer – Erica Beck, Kasey Diep, Mandy Galloway, Veena Ly, Carrie Reeser!

Staff Updates
Several supply teaches will be joining us throughout the year to teach and love on our students while staff members are enjoying those new baby snuggles!
- Elizabeth Harpe will return after Labor Day (supply teacher, retired MCS teacher Lyn Huber)
- Carrie Padgett will return after September Break (supply teacher, WS mom and former preschool teacher Erin Lawson)
- Lydia McCutcheon will return in mid-October (supply teacher, certified Music Teacher Riley Carson)
