I ain't afraid of no ghosts!

IT'S HALLOWEEN WEEK!  In the words of Ghostbusters, "I ain't afraid of no ghosts!"...or students on Halloween.  When the excitement of the season begins to creep into the classroom, remember consistency is your BEST friend.  Students thrive off of consistent routines, consistent expectations, and consistent instruction.  Just 4 weeks until Thanksgiving break, & then we return with just 3 weeks until Winter Break.  This time is critical for our students.  Continue to remain focused on maximizing your instructional time and designing rigorous instruction to meet the readiness levels of your students. Conference Week Success, now bring on Q2!

It was a conference week success!  Thank you for your hard work preparing for each conference.  Next week, will be busy with our SOR coaching week and some special visitors on campus.  As we begin Quarter 2, continue to maximize your instructional time, remain focused on your intentional small group instruction in reading and math, keep routines consistent, and expectations HIGH!   STINGER STORIES Read the latest edition of Stinger Stories shared with parents today! https://secure.smore.com/n/mnuz7 BSP LOCATION Beginning on Monday, 10/21 BSP will be in the Gym.  These students will go to the cafeteria for breakfast, before walking to class. Next week is Conference Week!  I know you have spent time preparing for each conference to make each conversation personal to the student and parent questions/concerns.  Thank you for the time and preparation leading up to conferences.  Conference Week is a time for you to celebrate the progress made by students - academically, socially, and emotionally, as well as share opportunities for growth this year.  Make each conference a success with these tips (in comics!)... 1.  Make each conference personal.  As a child's teacher, you spend nearly seven hours a day with your students - sometimes more awake hours than a child's parent.  Parents want to know the personal qualities that a child brings into a classroom - are they kind, compassionate, look to bring joy to others, helpful, demonstrate leadership, inclusive, look out for the underdog. 2.  Share opportunities for growth.  All parents want to know ways their child can grow this year - even...
