W&W MODULE 2 PLANNING
Thank you for your hard work this week as you look ahead to prepare for the launch of W&W M2 for your students.  Continue to reach out should you or your team need support in implementing the upcoming module.  Our LLT is working hard - we are here to help too!

W&W MODULE 1 END-OF-MODULE TASK STUDENT WORK SAMPLES, DUE 10/31
In preparation for an upcoming PLCs in November, please submit to Katy the following student work samples from W&W M1.

1.  ONE End-of-Module task that exceeds expectations
2.  ONE End-of-Module task that meets expectations
3.  ONE End-of-Module task that is below the expectation

CHROMEBOOK TAKE HOME FOR 3RD-5TH GRADE

Green chromebook tags for 3rd-5th graders whose parents completed the 1-1 chromebook agreement have been printed. Green tags are in your mailbox. If the student has a green tag, they are allowed to take the chromebook home.  Students would take home a chromebook if required to complete homework. 

CONFERENCE WEEK MATERIALS

All teachers will receive conference week materials in their boxes on Monday, 10/7.  Copies provided to teachers include:

  • Fall MAP
  • Reading Profiles (LDA data)
  • Heart Words (K-1)
  • How to help my child with reading at home (K-2)
  • MSGA Course Matrix (5th ONLY)
  • Field trip payment reminder (student specific)
Progress Notes FROM READING SPECIALISTS (only for students served by a reading specialist) will be provided by Friday, 10/11.  

CONFERENCE WEEK SUPPORT

If you need support during an upcoming parent-teacher conference, please reach out to any member of our admin team or your grade level counselor.  We are more than happy to join a conference that addresses sensitive subjects, or may be difficult.

CONFERENCE WEEK ASP REGISTRATION

During conference week, parents who want their children to attend the after-school program must complete a SEPARATE registration specific to Conference Week, with tuition set at $75 for the entire week or $37.50 for MCS staff members’ children.

WS PTA SILENT AUCTION - CALLING ALL STAFF EXPERIENCES!
Our PTA is preparing for the annual Silent Auction, which is a major fundraising event for the PTA.  As part of the auction, PTA would like to continue to offer Staff Experiences.  These are often times the most sought after auction items for our students/families!  Please consider donating your time for a silent auction staff experience as a way to support our phenomenal PTA!

Automated PA morning announcements will begin every day at approximately 8:28 AM.  These announcements will only include the pledge and moment of quiet reflection.  Teachers can tune into WSSN at their convenience for the weather report, birthday announcements, and information about upcoming school events for students.


CONFERENCE WEEK PARENT NOTIFICATION
You received an email today from Christina regarding Conference Week communication.  You can view the Conference Week Preparation information here. Please reach out if you have any specific questions regarding this email.  Immediate action items include:

1. By 10/2, create a sign-up genius link for scheduling conferences.
2. By 10/2, create a google form for parents to submit questions before conference week.  This helps your preparation for the conference.
2. ON 10/2, send parent conference week email by 4:00 PM - including sign-up genius link & google form for questions.

NOTE:  Fall Festival is on THURSDAY, 10/17.  We encourage you to end conferences by 3:30 PM on this afternoon.

FALL FESTIVAL STAFF CHILDREN WRIST BANDS
PTA will provide FREE Fall Festival wrist bands for all staff children again this year!  Children in grades K-5th are required to have a wrist band for entry.  If you would like a FREE Fall Festival wrist band, please complete the link below by October 9th.  Fall Festival is on October 17th.
