Last Week & Shining Bright!

LAST WEEK & WE'RE SHIGNING BRIGHT!!  This week, was filled with Dahlonega, Field Days, EOY Parties, Blue Ridge, and more!  Next week will be fast and furious!  Get some sleep this weekend - we will need to be ready for all the honors day celebrations and annual walks (5th, 8th, MHS Seniors!).

In celebration of the MHS Senior Walk on Monday, everyone wear Marietta Spirit Wear (and jeans)!  

LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL SAFETY

Please be vigilant in your efforts to ensure the safety of our campus.  

1.  Exterior doors should NEVER be propped open.  If you see a door propped, immediately close it.

2.  ALL visitors should have a visitor badge.  If you see a visitor without a badge, please escort them to the front office.

3.  Visitors must sign-in at front office, with the exception of Honors Day, when a secondary sign-in desk is available at the gym entrance.  Do NOT allow visitors to enter any other exterior door before signing in.

STUDENT MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION

During the last week of school it can become easy to slip into less structured days.  Our students still need your regular routine to feel safe and maintain predictability.  Keep your days scheduled with learning activities and structure, limiting unstructured activities.  Additionally, be aware your supervision allows for proactive redirection.  Supervision is keeping your eyes and ears on student activity at all times.  Students should never be left unattended by an adult in the classroom.

Administration will have limited availability to support with students 5/20-5/22 due to Honors Day.  Contact your grade level counselor for support first, they will refer to admin if needed.

100M DASH, 5/19

On Monday, all students will report to the playground field at the start of specials to determine the class winners for each grade level.  Following the grade level race, specialists will bring students to specials.

***1st Grade Specials:  12:40-1:15 PM

At 2:30 PM, all classes should report to the playground field for school finals to determine the Fastest Kid in School!

Parents will be notified if their child advances to the fastest kid in school race.

MHS SENIOR WALK, 5/19 AT 1:30 PM

Due the the fastest kid in school race, we will hold the Senior Walk indoors (much like the 5th grade walk).

Please see the walk route below.  Posters and celebration encouraged!

All classes should line the walk route at 1:30 PM.

***It is important the walk moves briskly through the halls, so we can begin the fastest kid race promptly at 2:30.  We will ask all seniors to leave by 2:20 PM.

5TH GRADE WALK, 5/22 approx. 2:00 PM

Please see  the walk route below.  Team leads will receive a text message when it is time to line the parade route and should distribute the message to their team.

Siblings of 5th grade students will be picked up by support staff around 1:45 PM to line the sidewalk leading to the playground.  Look for an email to come with a list of 5th grade siblings and the support staff assigned to your grade level.  5th Grade Parents will gather on the playground to receive students following the walk for pictures.

8TH GRADE WALK, 5/23

All classes should line the Polk Street entrance by 9:40 AM.  The 8th grade walk is scheduled to begin at 9:45 AM.  Posters and celebration encouraged!

Q4 GRADE REPORTING

All grades MUST be posted by Friday, 5/23.  Please look for Lindsay to send specific directions for posting FINAL grades.  NOTE:  Directions are slightly different at the end of the year!  Please be sure to READ CAREFULLY!

It been a hustle to get to the last day of school!  To take one small thing off your plate, Heather will prepare ALL the report card envelopes for mailing.  Each envelope will include the following:
