12 days of Holiday Cheer!

It's our favorite time of year - Holidays in the Hive!  We love surprising you throughout the month with littles treats and treasures to bring you holiday cheer.  Some teams began the off campus outings today, with more scheduled next week.  We hope you find you find the time for team fellowship to fill your cup.

Next week, we will begin Winter MAP.  Please reach out to Carla if you have ANY questions regarding your test sessions.  In addition to MAP, teachers should continue to make progress on completing LDA deadlines to ensure all data is entered by 12/16.  With all the holiday excitement and magic, students can be easily distracted.  Let's keep our days thoroughly planned with intentional activities to support practice of skills!

BLOCKSI SWITCH, 12/8
The district will make the switch from GoGuardian to Blocksi on MONDAY, 12/19. Blocksi will provide classroom monitoring during the school day. In addition, Blocksi allows us to extend monitoring after school hours on district devices and software, which enables us to meet the requirements outlined in HB 268.

Steps to launch Blocksi:
  1. Access through Clever
  2. At first login, teachers will be required to select which classes they want to include, similar to GoGuardian.  There is a button that will allow for class merges. Directions forthcoming.
  3. Non-rostered staff will not have  access to the teacher dashboard similarly to GoGuardian.

Q2 REPORT CARD TIMELINE
Reach out to Lindsay if you have any questions or need support meeting the Q2 grade reporting deadlines. It is important you meet each of the dates below to ensure grades are reported before Winter Break!

  • Thursday, December 11th: Grading Window Opens
  • Tuesday, December 16th:  Specials, SPED Small Group Graded Segments, Gifted, AC ELA deadline for submitting grades.
  • Thursday, December 18th:  HR Teacher deadline for submitting grades.  Email admin confirming completion  All errors should be resolved.
  • Friday, December 19th:  Q2  grading window closed. No more updates.
  • Monday, January 5, 2026:  Report cards published to ASPEN.  We will NOT be sending home paper copies.

MAP, LDAs & Amira parent reports will be provided to parents in January.  MAP & Amira are uploaded in Aspen and LDAs will be sent home hard copy in student Beelines.

NEW MATH ADOPTION INFORMATION - MESSAGE FROM OFFICE OF ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Marietta City Schools is reviewing K-11 mathematics instructional/curriculum resources for adoption in the 2026-27 school year. On December 11 from 10AM-5PM, academics will host an open review of math vendor materials at Marietta High School. Any staff members that would like to drop by will need to bring their employee badge to MHS and will enter through the main building.

WSSN!  HOW CAN I ACCESS THE WSSN EACH WEEK?
We have created a show page for teachers to easily access WSSN each week from your ViewBoard.  Follow these steps to create a shortcut to keep the show page one click away:
  1. Open the WSSN Show Page
  2. Click 3 dots on Google Toolbar
  3. Choose Cast, Save and Share
  4. Create Shortcut (It will appear on the Desktop)
  5. When you open the Shortcut, click on the Monday morning date to access WSSN for that week!
  6. Watch with your class. :)

Fall Break, YES!

Fall break has arrived!!  It's a perfect time to rest and recharge before the busy month of October arrives.  Whether you're traveling next week, or staying close to home - I hope you are able to enjoy the slow pace of a break.  When we return from the break, we will jump right into our first SOR Cycle, conference week, HOCO, and all the other fall treasures.   Also when we return from the break, we have just TWO weeks left for Q1!  Keep focused on instructional goals for this quarter, maximizing your time with students in daily reading and math small group instruction.  Good-bye to our apples & jeans!  Soups & sweaters are coming soon!
