It was a GRAND Grand-Pals Day! Thank you for making it a special day for our many special visitors! It will be a full week of learning next week. I hope your weekend is filled with LOTS of rest and relaxation - and a little bit of FUN too! You're earned it!

SOR COACHING WEEK, 9/11-9/14
Our first coaching week with Kendra is this week! Look for an email to come from Christina with more specific details. We are excited for the week of learning ahead!
TKES PRE-CONFERENCES
We are enjoying our 1:1 time with each of you for TKES pre-conferences to review goals and plans of support during the year. TKES pre-conferences will continue next week.
MAP TESTING WRAP UP
Please make sure you have turned in the following to Kraus ASAP. Please reach out if you have any questions about the forms.
- Testing folder with testing door sign
- MAP Training Document (Orange) - BOTH administration and reports sections completed
- GaDOE Security Compliance Form
- Examiner Certification Form (was placed in your box this past weekend)
FREDDY THE FALCON VISITS WEST SIDE, 9/15
Freddy the Falcon, from the Atlanta Falcons, will be visiting West Side next Friday! This school-wide program has been coordinated by the district external affairs department. We are excited for this high-energy program! Please review with your students assembly expectations before the program (remain seated, be respectful, listen to the speaker, etc.).
Program Location: Gym
Program Time: 1:00-1:45 PM
Other Notes:
- 4th Grade: You will have a lunch schedule change. See email from admin with changed lunch time for 9/15.
- Kinder: Specials teachers bring Kinder to Gym at 1:00. Kinder Paras will attend specials with classes this day to assist with the transition to the gym. Kinder teachers arrive to the Gym at 1:15 PM.
- 2nd Grade: 2nd Grade teachers bring students to the Gym at 1:00. 2nd Grade teachers leave program at 1:20. Specials teachers dismiss 2nd graders from the program for the remainder of the specials time (1:45-2:10).
- Specialists: Remain in Gym from 1:00-1:45 to support with Kinder and 2nd grade classes (see notes above).
TALENT DEVELOPMENT, BEGINS 9/11
Talent Development information was shared with homeroom teachers and parents this week. The first session of TD begins on Monday. TD Session 1 will end the week on 10/27.

SOAR BUS SAFETY PROGRAM, 9/13-9/14
Our transportation department is scheduled to visit WS on 9/13-9/14 for the annual SOAR Bus Safety Program. The program will occur in the car rider loop on Maple. Please see the schedule below.
NOTE FOR 3RD & 5TH GRADE: Teachers drop students off at specials location. Specialists will take students to SOAR program.
FIELD TRIP PAYMENTS
The RevTrak store is NOW live! Please include in your next several weekly newsletters reminders to families regarding field trip payments. Field trips can be paid for the year, or before each trip. It is important we gather field trip payments from as many students as possible to ensure these experiences can be provided to our students.
TEAM EXTENDED PLANNING TIME
