Just like Rudolph, we are running all the way to the holiday break.  Just two days remain in our Holiday Cheer on Polk Street!  Look for a sweet treat and something to keep you warm this winter.  Stay well through the weekend and next week!

LDA CLOSE OUT!!

Bravo, kudos, job well done!!  We successfully completed assessments and compiled data in record time.  Thank you for your hard work to stay on top of these tight deadlines!

SPRING READING SMALL GROUP DRAFTS, K-3RD GRADE

Draft assignments have been made for spring reading small groups in K-3rd grade.  This information has been sent to each classroom teacher.  We will look at 4th-5th grade needs and placement next week.

COMMON REFRIGERATORS

Please take home (or toss) ALL items in common refrigerators in the school.  Anything remaining after 3:00 PM on 12/19 will be tossed.

CLOSING DOWN THE CLASSROOM AFTER THE HOLIDAY CHEER

Before you leave on 12/19, please do the following:

  • Unplug all Christmas lights.
  • Throw out ANY open food, throw out/take home food containers.
  • Packing away holiday decor before students return on 1/4.

Q2 REPORT CARDS DUE, 12/19

Carla will stop by each grade level during planning on 12/19 to confirm grades are posted accurately.  Please have grades posted by your planning time!

Reminder for 3rd-5th Grade:  Grading categories with weights greater than 20% should have multiple grading opportunities to allow students an opportunity to recover from a poor grade, if necessary.

FIELD TRIP PAYMENTS

The RevTrak store is NOW live!  Please include in your next several weekly newsletters reminders to families regarding field trip payments.  Field trips can be paid for the year, or before each trip.  It is important we gather field trip payments from as many students as possible to ensure these experiences can be provided to our students.

Fall MAP & SOR Coaching Week = JEANS!

This week brought the joy of familiar routines to whole group and small group instruction!  Our students have settled so well into your high expectations for learning.  We saw small group instruction start right at the skill level appropriate for each student.  Next week during the SOR coaching week, we will review best practices for STEPS Lessons, HFW & Oral Language.  STEPS will provide the framework necessary for our instruction to "move as quick as it can, but as slow as it must."  Your lesson preparation during small group reading will ensure adequate practice opportunities (30+) are available every day for students to read and write words aligned to the target skill.  If you would like support planning for reading small group lessons, reach out to Mary Claire (K-3) or Katy (4-5).   On the math front, Katy shared district resources available on Schoology to support math instructional planning.  If you find you would like more time to dig into math planning for your t
