Grannies & Puppies!!

What a FULL week!  We were covered up in Grannies & Puppies with the 100th & 101st day of school.  Can you believe more than half the school year is behind us?  We have enjoyed each of our TKES mid-year conference conversations, as you have dug deep into your student data and shared plans for how you will support student growth goals the rest of the school year.  Your professional reflection is noticed and appreciated.  If we did not meet with you this week, we look forward to meeting with you next week!  Thank you for the commitment you bring to the classroom everyday! As you begin to implement your plans to adjust instruction for students needing additional support/extension, I encourage you to reach out to any of our admin or coaches if you would like ongoing support.  Your students are OUR students - we are in this work with you!  This time of year will bring incredible growth for ALL students, if we remain focused and intentional with our planning & instructional time.

Unexpected 3-day week!

We accomplished A LOT in an unexpected three day week!  Thank you for your time to review grade level progress on MAP growth goals.  If you would like more specific support on creating instructional plans to support students making minimal progress, please reach out to Katy or Sara.  They are more than happy to review your individual class data.  Our assessments are valuable when we take immediate action on how to support student needs (& needs could include acceleration & enrichment!).   You can review the data presentation shared during PLCs  here .   We have some busy weeks ahead - and just 4 weeks until mid-Winter break!  Let's maximize this instructional time to make some big gains for our students! NEW CAFETERIA MONITOR! A new cafeteria monitor began today, Mrs. Francesca!  She is a current WS mom to Achille's in 2nd grade.  Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Francesca to the hive.  Ms. Tracy & Mrs. Lawson (on a rotation) will continue to support in the cafeteri

3 day weekend & Snow??

It's a 3-day weekend, whoohoo!!  Thank you for a smooth MAP test administration.  Everything went exceptionally well on our end.  We know this was only because of your attention to detail!  We will dig into grade level & student MAP results next week to set instructional goals for 2024.  Stay close to the weather report this weekend... that snow day might happen (I know nothing, only reporting my own hopes)!! STINGER STORIES Read the latest edition of Stinger Stories shared with families at the link below. Stinger Stories (smore.com) MAP REPORTS PUBLISHED TO PARENTS Parents will have access to view MAP results in Aspen on  1/23 .  I encourage teachers to reach out to parents ahead of 1/23 - IF you know the parent will have questions regarding the child's current progress (ie - students with decreased scores).  Your communication can include the child's current score, your plan to support the child's learning needs in class, how the parent can help at home, or any ot

Welcome, 2024!!  I hope you had a productive day.  Admittedly, your schedules were a bit packed with LDA Data, Math Data, Morphology & CPR training.  Thank you for your engagement in each session, as you look ahead to plan instruction for the next several week.  To provide you with more uninterrupted time, we are working on plans to lengthen upcoming extended planning time (...4 hours, rather than 2 hours).  Look for more information to come! WELCOME BACK, MRS. MADDOX! Please join me in welcoming back Mrs. Maddox from maternity leave!  She had a great first day preparing to see her 4C students tomorrow.  We are SO glad to have Mrs. Maddox back in the hive!
