2 Day Re-entry

I am grateful for the 2 day re-entry after a long break, giving everyone time to adjust to early school wake-ups.  Looking forward to a FULL week with you and our Stingers!

WINTER MAP TEST ADMINISTRATION, 1/9 & 1/11

We will administer all Winter MAP assessments next week.  Please see the schedule below & read the MAP Testing Information emailed by Laura.  Make-ups will occur on 1/10 & 1/12.  
  • MAP Folders will be placed with rosters/accommodations on Friday.  
  • Please review your MAP Folders to ensure you have pulled up the platform and can create your test session prior to the start of testing.  
  • Look for an email from L. Kraus with more details and links.  
  • PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING THE COPY MACHINE IN THE WORK ROOM DURING TESTING.

YELLOW LEAVE FORMS
Shelley has filled out nearly 100 Yellow Leave Forms this week!!  Employees are responsible for completing Yellow Leave Forms for EVERY absence - personal, sick, professional learning.  Not matter the reason, a Yellow Leave Forms must ALWAYS be completed.  Please help us by completing your leave forms at the time of the absence.  Copies of leave forms are always available in the mail room.

YTD LEAVE
All staff will receive a YTD leave report next week.  Please review this report to confirm our leave records are correct.  This also provides you with a reminder of how many days have been used, and how many days are available before LWOP.

MILE RESUMES, 1/8
All MILE classes resume the week of 1/8.  Newly identified gifted students will join MILE classes this day. Denise & Mary Jo will offer a parent session for new gifted families on 1/18 at 2:00 PM.

MILE Days:
1st Grade - Monday OR Tuesday
2nd Grade* - Thursday
3rd Grade* - Wednesday
4th Grade - Monday OR Tuesday
5th Grade - Wednesday

*Mrs. Herman and Mrs. Groeneveld teach a MILE class at these grade levels.  Your child will be assigned to either one of these teachers.

FIELD TRIP PAYMENTS

The RevTrak store is NOW live!  Please include in your next several weekly newsletters reminders to families regarding field trip payments.  Field trips can be paid for the year, or before each trip.  It is important we gather field trip payments from as many students as possible to ensure these experiences can be provided to our students.

Fall MAP & SOR Coaching Week = JEANS!

This week brought the joy of familiar routines to whole group and small group instruction!  Our students have settled so well into your high expectations for learning.  We saw small group instruction start right at the skill level appropriate for each student.  Next week during the SOR coaching week, we will review best practices for STEPS Lessons, HFW & Oral Language.  STEPS will provide the framework necessary for our instruction to "move as quick as it can, but as slow as it must."  Your lesson preparation during small group reading will ensure adequate practice opportunities (30+) are available every day for students to read and write words aligned to the target skill.  If you would like support planning for reading small group lessons, reach out to Mary Claire (K-3) or Katy (4-5).   On the math front, Katy shared district resources available on Schoology to support math instructional planning.  If you find you would like more time to...

Is it Spring Break yet?

  YES!!  The answer is, YES!!  You all made it to the most glorious break of the year after months of hard work and student progress.  In the last two weeks, we've shared with teams some remarkable student progress data in reading fluency (K-3rd), writing (4th-5th), and math (2nd-5th).  Clear evidence of the impact you've made over the last several months.  You have earned this break!  When we return, it will be a busy season - remain committed to maximizing the remaining instructional time with students.
