PLCs 3/12
Katy will review instructional strategies for teaching math vocabulary.  Prior to Tuesdays PLC, review the vocabulary chart attached to Stinger Stats email (it will look familiar, as it was previously shared in PLCs) & consider - 1) What vocabulary will appear in current/upcoming units?

ORF MID-POINT CHECK, K-3RD GRADE DUE 3/15
Sara has distributed materials and directions for completing the ORF mid-point check next week.  All data should be entered by 3/15.  Please reach out to Mary Claire if you need support completing these assessments by the end of the week.  It is critical we have data available to review to put immediate plans in place to support students needing an additional push during the last 7-8 weeks of instruction.

Q3 MATH CFAs, 3/18-3/29
Look for Katy to send you information regarding the administration of district Q3 Math CFAs.  Be mindful of protecting your math instructional block to ensure you have adequately covered content standards before the assessment window.  Prioritize your small group instruction to spiral & re-teach skills as necessary.

WITH THREE-ish weeks until the end of the quarter... If your team would like support planning math to ensure student learning aligns with rigor expected of the standards this quarter, reach out to Katy.  She is more than happy to meet with your team to plan whole group, small group, or practice activities!

SPRING SUPERVISION
Please be mindful of the importance in remaining diligent in your supervision of students at all times during the day.  We can all proactively prevent problems from arising with our class procedures (in the restroom & hallways), providing consistent reteaching of our expectations, and remaining visible.  You might also find that it is a good to introduce class or individual student positive behavior supports, if you find your students requiring more frequent reminders/redirection.  A few items to reflect upon...
  • How does our team set students up for success during recess?  Are we active in supervising the entire playground?
  • How do my classroom procedures set students up for success during restroom breaks (limiting the number of variables in the restroom that could cause problems to bubble)?
  • Would my class benefit from specific social stories to pre-teach/re-teach social situations that have caused challenges?  If so, reach out to Ms. Rambert or Mrs. Woityra for a mini-visit!
DISMISSAL
We are loading up the cars FAST these days!  Which means it is important for students to watch the dismissal screen closely to see their name when it appears.  If the dismissal crew needs to frequently call a student's name over the announcement, the screen needs to be watched more closely to avoid delays.

HEADPHONES
Please let Kraus know if you have a surplus of headphones.  Some students get headphones from the supply kit, but then bring their own from home.  We have students and support teachers who are in need of some additional headphones.  Before purchasing, we wanted to check the in classroom supply.

MATH DISTRICT WALKS, 3/21
Tammy will be back on campus March 21st to see the great mathematical thinking happening in your classrooms!

ITEMS BELOW ARE REPEATED FROM LAST WEEK
