The Final Friday!!
We made it to the last week of school! The next four days will go by in a blink. Please read the final week reminders carefully. There are many events/activities happening on campus! Most importantly, please review safety and supervision reminders for the last week of school.
LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL SAFETY
Please be vigilant in your efforts to ensure the safety of our campus.
1. Exterior doors should NEVER be propped open. If you see a door propped, immediately close it.
2. ALL visitors should have a visitor badge. If you see a visitor without a badge, please escort them to the front office.
3. Visitors must sign-in at front office, with the exception of Honors Day, when a secondary sign-in desk is available at the gym entrance. Do NOT allow visitors to enter any other exterior door before signing in.
STUDENT MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISION
During the last week of school it can become easy to slip into less structured days. Our students still need your regular routine to feel safe and maintain predictability. Keep your days scheduled with learning activities and structure, limiting unstructured activities. Additionally, be aware your supervision allows for proactive redirection. Supervision is keeping your eyes and ears on student activity at all times. Students should never be left unattended by an adult in the classroom.
Administration will have limited availability to support with students 5/20-5/22 due to Honors Day.
YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION
Yearbooks will be distributed on Monday. We recommend students take yearbooks home for safe keeping.
LUNCH DELIVERIES TO THE FRONT OFFICE
Please be mindful of the traffic in the front office on the last week of school. Our front office ladies would be delighted to reduce lunch deliveries during the last week!
LUNCH CHANGE, 5/21 (4TH & 5TH GRADE ONLY)
Please refer to the email sent by Carla regarding the lunch change impacting your grade levels on 5/21.
8TH GRADE WALK, 5/22
Celebrate the 8th graders as they begin their journey at MHS! Staff and students can gather along Polk Street, remaining in the grass area, at 9:35 AM on May 22. 8th grade students are scheduled to leave Northcutt at 9:45 AM. Additional central office staff will be present during the 8th grade walk to support student/staff safety. All admin will be in WS Kinder awards day at this time. Staff/students should return back into the building following the walk.
5TH GRADE WALK, 5/22
We will begin the 5th grade walk at approximately 2:30 PM. Team leaders will receive notification for when students should gather in the halls. Look for the walk map to be shared before Wednesday. The 5th grade walk will follow a similar path as the Senior Walk.
PLAYGROUND, 5/23
As a reminder, the playground will not be available for K-4th grade on the last day of school due to the 5th grade picnic.

Reading Specialists - You are no longer required to attend the Teacher Launch Training. Please look for an email with specific information for responsibilities on May 24.

MOVIES
Please be mindful movies should ONLY be used during the school day when their purpose supports a learning goal (Ex: at the end of a novel study; apart of teaching sci/SS content). Their use during the school day should be limited, unless used during a lunchtime reward or after the final bell @ 3:05 PM. Even at this time of year, learning still can happen. Following testing, our focus is on ways to preview content for the next grade level.
