3-day Weekend!!

WHOOHOO, a three-day weekend!!  Labor Day signals the end of "summer", with Fall peering around the corner.  While some of you may be ready to pull out those Halloween decorations, I'll be happy with some cooler temps at car line.  Whether you're entering Halloween season, football season, or simply wishing for the end of sweltering heat - I hope the extra weekend day brings you more Fall!  It's been a busy, productive first month of school & you've earned an extra day of rest!

VISION TO LEARN, 9/5

Vision to Learn will on campus Thursday, September 5. Please bring your class to the PTA room in alphabetical order at your designated time. Some classes may need to bring lunches with them as they will go straight to lunch following the screening. Students can also bring a book with them to read as they wait to be called in.

As a reminder, this year students will be screened ONLY.  Full eye exams and glasses dispensing will not be provided this year.  Nurse Nunez and the counselors will work with families this year to secure glasses subscriptions for any of our students with NEW needs.

PTA DIRECT DONATION UPDATE
As of today, the PTA is 65% to goal for this year's Direct Donation.  The Direct Donation campaign ends September 13th.  Why is Direct Donation important?  It gives every teacher $250 supply money (plus additional funds for specialists), pays for subscription fees like IXL, purchases Beelines and agendas, and SO MUCH more (like playground TURF!).

Mrs. Martin's class was the first to reach 100% participation in Direct Donation & they will go on a limo ride to Lewis Park on September 20th!  But, another class incentive is starting NOW!  The NEXT class to reach 100% participation in Direct Donation will earn a PJ & Donut Party!  Continue to encourage participation in PTA Direct Donation from NOW until SEPTEMBER 13th!
