First Week, Best Week!
It was a great first two days of school! The days ran smoothly from arrival to lunch to dismissal. Next week, we will continue setting routines and procedures, administering LDAs, and diving deeper into Module 0 for W&W. Reach out if we can support you in any way! As we move into week two, keep shining bright Stingers!
RECESS RELEASE
If your team has not already done so, your recess release schedule can begin on Monday. To make this additional planning time a success, follow these steps.
1. Be diligent in supervision of all students during recess! This mean actively monitoring and observing students on the playground.
2. Coordinate with your team a "buddy teacher". The buddy teacher is who your students can go to for help, conflict resolution, injuries, etc. Make sure your students are aware of who is your buddy teacher. The buddy teacher should remain the same all year.
3. To assist with transitions in the building, teachers should pick-up their students from the playground after recess. Do not leave your buddy teacher responsible for bringing two classes back inside after recess.
4. For indoor recess days, we will attempt to schedule coverage. If this is not feasible, we will revise our indoor recess plans to include dividing students among all HR classes to protect the recess release time.
LUNCH
Thank you for your support eating lunch with students the first two days of school! Please reinforce cafeteria expectations throughout the first month of school (and beyond).
