EOGs Continue!

Bravo to our 3rd-5th grade students who worked hard all week on Reading/ELA EOGs!  Testing will continue next week with Math (3rd-5th Grade) and Science (5th Grade).  Thank you for maintaining quiet transitions to respect our students hard at work!  For our K-2nd grade classes, we have just two weeks remaining for small group instruction in reading and math.  Continue to use this time to support growth in the final push of the year!  Your intentional, data-driven planning will support students in meeting their individual growth goals.  If you need support with extension lessons/resources, please reach out to Katy.  Carla will share MAP assessment information next week.

EOGs CONTINUE!

Students have worked hard all week on Reading/ELA EOGs!  We will continue next Tuesday-Thursday with Math and Science. If you have ANY questions about test administration - ASK!  If you need support with test administration in any way - ASK!  We are here to make the weeks seamless for you and your students.

  1. Jeans on testing days!
  2. The Teacher Workroom will be CLOSED during testing hours on all testing days!  Please prepare your copies before/after school.
  3. All material/content should be removed from the classroom walls by the end of the day today.
  4. PRIOR TO TESTING, be sure to have students fully power off their Chromebook and turn it back on so it can receive a strong Wi-Fi signal.  Just closing the lid does not work.  This small step prevents the test from lagging and rebuffering (the spinning circle!).
Q4 PROGRESS REPORTS, DUE 4/29
As a reminder, Q4 progress reports should be emailed to parents by 4/29.  Please complete the Progress Report Record for all students who received a progress report by 4/29.  Students on the retention list must receive a progress report.

SUMMATIVE CONFERENCES, 5/9-5/16
If you have not signed up for a summative conference, please do so by 5/2.  Summative Conference reflection forms should include all EOY data.  Reach out if you have any questions regarding summative conferences.

SPRING GIFTED TESTING, MSO COMPLETION!
Our Spring Gifted testing window is nearing completion with the final collection of MSOs.  Anna has sent teachers detailed directions for completing MSOs.  Please make a time to prioritize this important data collection piece for students you have been assigned.  If you have questions, or need support completing this observation tool - reach out to Anna or Denise!

Our final 1/2-day planning times are approaching.  Subs have been arranged & yellow leave forms collected for each teacher.  Team leaders will receive an agenda ahead of each planning day to ensure teams have resources/materials ready to make the most of your time together!  Due to testing schedules, all teams should plan to meet in Eason's room.

Fall MAP & SOR Coaching Week = JEANS!

This week brought the joy of familiar routines to whole group and small group instruction!  Our students have settled so well into your high expectations for learning.  We saw small group instruction start right at the skill level appropriate for each student.  Next week during the SOR coaching week, we will review best practices for STEPS Lessons, HFW & Oral Language.  STEPS will provide the framework necessary for our instruction to "move as quick as it can, but as slow as it must."  Your lesson preparation during small group reading will ensure adequate practice opportunities (30+) are available every day for students to read and write words aligned to the target skill.  If you would like support planning for reading small group lessons, reach out to Mary Claire (K-3) or Katy (4-5).   On the math front, Katy shared district resources available on Schoology to support math instructional planning.  If you find you would like more time to...

Last Week & Shining Bright!

LAST WEEK & WE'RE SHIGNING BRIGHT!!  This week, was filled with Dahlonega, Field Days, EOY Parties, Blue Ridge, and more!  Next week will be fast and furious!  Get some sleep this weekend - we will need to be ready for all the honors day celebrations and annual walks (5th, 8th, MHS Seniors!). Thanksgiving Break, Praise the Lord!

  YOU MUST SING THE BELOW IN THE TUNE OF DEF LEPPARD, POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME.  :) WHOOHOO!  You made it to Thanksgiving, and in the words of our Kinder ministers, "Praise the Lord!"  It was a great week of feasts, Kinder pilgrims, Wampanoag men/women, and turkeys!  Thank you for your flexibility with the busy events of the week.  As we move into the final weeks of Q2, our days will be filled with W&W Module and Math unit completion, assessment, field trips, and celebration.  Consistent routines will be very important during December to maximize your instructional time and provide necessary structure for students.
