It's Spring Break!

In honor of April Fools Day (celebrated earlier this week with Dragon Drills & Sloof Lirpa birds)...


I hope all of you have the restful Spring Break you deserve!  It's been a productive six weeks since mid-Winter break - with SO much learning happening across the school.  Rest and recharge before we welcome in the last six weeks of school!

  • 4/15 - EOG Accommodations and Small Group Review
  • 4/16 - EOG Test Examiner Training, during faculty meeting
  • 4/17 - Classroom Checks to cover Reading/ELA/Writing/Math Content

LUNCHROOM REMINDERS
A few lunchroom reminders...
  1. Teachers should walk students into the cafeteria at the start of their assigned lunch time.  Teachers should stand with the class until the FIRST student is served by Ms. Sharlene.  At least one person from each team should eat in the lounge, in the event of an emergency.  More than one person from 
  2. each team is always welcomed!  We are working with Mrs. Francesca to remind her that teacher lunch is should not be interrupted.
  3. Teachers should pick up their class PROMPTLY at the end of the assigned lunch time.
  4. Continue to re-teach and model safe/orderly behavior in the lunchroom when students arrive and leave the cafeteria.

DATES & DEETS
Our spring Dates & Deets calendar can be accessed here.  This includes many duplicate dates that can be found below and on the WS Master calendar on Outlook.  Despite our best efforts to plan ahead, there are times when events may shift and change.  We will always do our best to over communicate if there is a change.


SUMMATIVE CONFERENCES
Like last year, we will hold summative conferences in two phases.  Phase One staff will receive information this week about scheduling summative conferences.  Phase Two staff will receive information the week of 4/21/25.

Phase One Staff:  Paraprofessionals, Specialists, Counselors, Contributing Professionals
Phase Two Staff:  K-5 Classroom Teachers, SPED Teachers, Reading Specialists

STUDENT TECHNOLOGY CHECKS
If students report issues with their technology (broken screen, sticking keys, etc.) please enter a Tech Ticket for Kim to repair the device before spring testing season begins.  This is especially important for 3rd-5th grade classrooms!

EXCEPTIONAL CHILDRENS WEEK, 4/14-4/18

Exceptional children's week is coming soon!  Our friends from Java Joy will return on April 14th to help kick-off the week!

NEW ELA STANDARDS TRAINING PLAN, SAVE THE DATES!
Sara Kany will be delivering training across all schools on the NEW ELA standards.  Every effort has been made to schedule training during already protected meeting time (faculty/SOR).  These standards will be in effective next school year.  Please mark these important dates on your calendar!
