A FULL second week!

Bravo, Stinger Staff!  You conquered your second FULL week of school, kicking off W&W Module 1, vision screening, Amira screening, and Curriculum Night!  Thank you for showing up last night to share your excitement for the year ahead and love for what you do each day.  I know our families left Curriculum Night with a confidence that their child is in the best of hands.  Today, you tackle the first day of reading small groups.  Great work teaching your students the routines and procedures for efficient transitions that maximize your instructional time.  Next week, you'll get right to work with STEPS.  We will take some time on Tuesday to review STEPS expectations and provide your team with time to plan lessons for the week ahead.  The future for your students begins NOW!  Let's make the most of every minute.

MARIETTA COMMUNITY SCHOOLS AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLUBS BEGIN
Next week, please allow extra time prior to dismissal to review students attending after school enrichment clubs.  The dismissal sheet will be updated to list all students by club/meeting day.  HR teachers will receive a list of students from their classroom registered to attend an enrichment club.  All club students will be dismissed to the cafeteria at 3:30 PM.

HEARING SCREENING FOR 1ST, 3RD & 5TH GRADES, 8/18-8/22
Nurse Nunez will conduct required hearing screening next week.  Please see the schedule below.  3rd & 5th grade will occur during ART SPECIALS.  1st Grade occurs at 1:00 PM (arrive to the auditorium).

TKES LAUNCH!

AM DUTIES
If you have a morning duty, please arrive by 8:00 AM!  To be prepared for students to enter the building, everyone should be in their assigned duty.

STAFF CHILDREN DURING DISMISSAL
As a reminder, all staff children should remain in their HR teacher or grade level dismissal location until 3:30 PM.  Most staff are working a dismissal assignment or supervising students during dismissal.  Teachers, please remind your students that are staff children to remain with you during dismissal.

STAFF ABSENCE REMINDERS!
There are THREE steps to follow, if you are going to out unexpectedly.
  1. Text both Carla and Lindsay.
  2. Fill out Employee Leave Yellow form (DIGITAL FORM HERE).
  3. Complete absence in Kelly or ESS.

Thanksgiving Break, Praise the Lord!

  YOU MUST SING THE BELOW IN THE TUNE OF DEF LEPPARD, POUR SOME SUGAR ON ME.  :) WHOOHOO!  You made it to Thanksgiving, and in the words of our Kinder ministers, "Praise the Lord!"  It was a great week of feasts, Kinder pilgrims, Wampanoag men/women, and turkeys!  Thank you for your flexibility with the busy events of the week.  As we move into the final weeks of Q2, our days will be filled with W&W Module and Math unit completion, assessment, field trips, and celebration.  Consistent routines will be very important during December to maximize your instructional time and provide necessary structure for students.
