WHOOHOO, FIVE MORE DAYS!!  A big thank you to each of you for a smooth finish during EOG testing & TWO fantastic Field Days!  It has been such a great week for our Stingers!  Next week will be filled with Blue Devil Day (5th Grade), Dahlonega (4th Grade), Honors Days, & LOTS of walks!  Please be sure to read all of the important information below to ensure you are prepared for the next 5 days!  Let's make it the best LAST WEEK of school!

YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION, 5/18

Yearbooks were distributed to your classroom on Monday.  Please pass out to students.  Names are printed on a label found on the back of the yearbook.

HONORS DAY PRACTICE SCHEDULE, 5/18 & 5/19

Please arrive on time to the gym for your grade level Honors Day practice.  Students should arrive in ABC order by class.

MHS SENIOR WALK, 5/18

We look forward to welcoming our graduating seniors back to the halls of West Side on Monday!  The walk begins at approximately 2:20 PM. A GroupMe text will be sent when it is time to move to your walk location. Signs and other spirited items welcome!

5th Grade:  Send Ambassadors to the auditorium at 2:15 PM for the pinning ceremony.  Following the pinning ceremony, they will rejoin their class at the walk location.

5TH GRADE WALK, 5/21

The 5th grade walk will begin immediately following the 5th grade awards ceremony at approximately 2:15 PM. A GroupMe text will be sent when it is time to move to your walk location.

Support staff will be assigned gather 5th grade siblings (K-4th grade) to join at the final location of the walk. An email was sent today if you were assigned to support. Siblings will return to their classroom for dismissal following the walk.


8TH GRADE WALK, 5/22
Please gather along the sidewalk on Polk Street for the annual 8th grade walk at approximately 9:25 AM. The walk is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM.  Signs and spirited items are encouraged!

LAST DAY REMINDERS!

No recess on the playground due to the 5th grade picnic.  You can take students outside for a movement break near the sport court, cafeteria patio, or car loop.

Q4 REPORT CARD TIMELINE

Next week, Lindsay will send staff details about final report card postings.  Please note - there are some additional steps required during for final report cards specific to ALL teachers (HR, teachers, gifted).  This email should be read carefully to ensure the required steps are completed for state reporting.
  • 5/13 - Final Report Card Window Opens
  • 5/22 - Last Day of Q4 Grade Window
  • 5/26 - Deadline for posting grades
NEW STAFF T-SHIRT SIZES!

JULY COMP DAY
Certified staff contracts are issued for 189 days to include ONE day staff selected date to work between July 6-24 for classroom set-up.  Please submit your July Comp Day HERE by May 27th.

WSSN!  HOW CAN I ACCESS THE WSSN EACH WEEK?
We have created a show page for teachers to easily access WSSN each week from your ViewBoard.  Follow these steps to create a shortcut to keep the show page one click away:
  1. Open the WSSN Show Page
  2. Click 3 dots on Google Toolbar
  3. Choose Cast, Save and Share
  4. Create Shortcut (It will appear on the Desktop)
  5. When you open the Shortcut, click on the Monday morning date to access WSSN for that week!
  6. Watch with your class. :)
STAFF ABSENCE REMINDERS!
There are THREE steps to follow, if you are going to out unexpectedly.
  1. Text both Carla and Lindsay.
  2. Fill out Employee Leave Yellow form (DIGITAL FORM HERE).
  3. Complete absence in Kelly/Frontline.

It's our favorite time of year - Holidays in the Hive!  We love surprising you throughout the month with littles treats and treasures to bring you holiday cheer.  Some teams began the off campus outings today, with more scheduled next week.  We hope you find you find the time for team fellowship to fill your cup. CELEBRATING YOU NEXT WEEK!  As we move into the busy spring weeks, know how grateful we are for ALL you do each and every day.  Our school is served by THE most dedicated professionals, working tirelessly - together - to provide the very best instruction for our students, to love each child, and create the most magical elementary school years for our Stingers.  While we appreciate you every day, next week will be filled with some extra special treats.
