Is it Spring Break yet?

  YES!!  The answer is, YES!!  You all made it to the most glorious break of the year after months of hard work and student progress.  In the last two weeks, we've shared with teams some remarkable student progress data in reading fluency (K-3rd), writing (4th-5th), and math (2nd-5th).  Clear evidence of the impact you've made over the last several months.  You have earned this break!  When we return, it will be a busy season - remain committed to maximizing the remaining instructional time with students. Best of Cobb & just 5 days until SB!

  If you have not yet seen the news, West Side has been recognized as the runner-up for Best of Cobb 2024 for public elementary schools!  This is should be no surprise to anyone who has spent more than a few minutes at West Side, and is truly a testament to each of YOU the PHENOMENAL educators who fill our classrooms.  With 75 public elementary schools in Cobb/Marietta, this recognition is amazing.  Our community & students are better because of YOU!  Bravo to our other district winners -- ALB, MMS & MHS! Q3 MATH WALKS District Math Coordinator, Tamara, was on campus yesterday to visit during math instruction.  She was extremely impressed with the instruction occurring across the school!   Highlights: Use of strategies to engage all learners Implementation of tasks that promoted reasoning and critical thinking Concept connections, i.e., literacy, organization, elapsed time Consistent instructional focus in each grade Pacing Use of DOE Learning

WOW - thank you for making me feel special on my birthday!  You all sure know how to make a girl feel loved! Yay, it's Fun Run!!

WOW!!  What a wildly successful Booster!  Thank you for the energy you brought each day with in class rewards and parent communication.  Our Fun Run is tomorrow!  Below are a few reminders for the event. 1.  Distribute student t-shirts to wear to the run. 2.  Students should wear athletic bottoms & tennis shoes. 3.  Students can bring a water bottle to the run (labeled! - leave unlabeled water bottles in the classroom). 4.  Design your class flag. 5.  Arrive to the Fun Run on time! 6.  Classroom teachers should remain in the Fun Run for the duration of the event.  Wear your school appropriate athletic wear! DUE to the anticipated rain, we will move the run indoors.  PLEASE see the updated schedule below.
