It's gonna be May!

(Cue Justin Timberlake) It's gonna be MAY!  We wrapped up April with a lot of fun - Spring Picnic, 2nd grade Diner, 5th grade Talent Show, & 1st grade Farmer's Market.  Next week, our 3rd-5th grade students will begin EOG.  We are SOR ready for them to show all they have learned this year!  I am confident our students will shine because they have the very BEST teachers in all the land.  Teachers who encourage, love, support, set high expectations, build confidence, allow risk taking, keep the main thing the main thing, and believe our students are capable of great things!  We had a few extra weeks before EOG testing began - thank you for showing up everyday, keeping instruction the priority & student confidence high!  Time to finish strong and watch our students bloom!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, JEANS MONTH?

Superintendent Richard Woods declared May Jeans Month in all Georgia schools! Yay for jeans, please do not wear jeans on your grade level Honors Day. :)

3RD-5TH GRADE!  EOG REMINDERS!
Please thoroughly read the email Carla sent on 4/28 - EOG Reminders, Schedules and Logistics.  This email should not be overlooked.  It contains very important reminders to ensure a smooth testing session.

K-2ND GRADE!  EOG HALLWAY TRANSITIONS & WORKROOMS
Please be mindful hallway transitions should be quiet to minimize disruptions to students testing in small group testing locations.  To help with this, please use outside paths to transition to lunch and specials.

All workrooms will be closed during EOG testing times, or until the building is free to return to normal business.  If an emergency arises and you need copies made during your planning time, use the front office copier.

CHROMEBOOKS, 3RD-5TH GRADE
Chromebooks should NOT be used after EOG testing days, unless for a teacher led review activity.  Ensure Chromebooks are powered down and charging following testing.

AMIRA WRAP-UP
Thank you for your help to ensure a smooth Amira Test Administration!  A special thank you to our Reading Specialist Amira team for taking this load off the HR teacher!  Just a very small number of make-ups remain.  Our Amira team will coordinate make-ups.

LDA REMINDERS!
Kudos to our 3rd-5th grade teachers for completing EOY ORF & Spelling Assessments.  Give our 3rd-5th grade and intermediate teachers three claps - ALL grade levels have 90% or more students meeting the EOY ORF expectations!  For some grade levels, that is a 25% increase from the previous school year!
