Wrapping Up April!

We're wrapping up April and ready to begin May with a focus to finish strong!  In our last "normal" week before testing, keep your days intentionally planned, engagement high, and routines consistent.  Support each other as we move through the next few busy weeks!  If we can do anything to support YOU, do not hesitate to reach out!

SOR CYCLE 5.5, 4/27-4/30
It's the final SOR Coaching Cycle of the year!  Five years of learning and going together.  I could not be more grateful for your professionalism and commitment to continued growth during each chapter of our SOR journey.  The schedule below applies to K-2nd grade only, due to upcoming EOG testing.
  • Tuesday, 4/28:  EOY SOR Reflections and Survey, bring your laptop
  • Wednesday, 4/29:  SG planning for final two weeks of small group
***Tuesday, 4/28:  All 3rd-5th grade teachers and EOG Small Group Test Examiners will meet during planning to review test examiner directions and test accommodations and answer final EOG test administration questions.

AMIRA TESTING, 4/27-4/30 (K-3RD GRADE)
Mary Claire sent calendar invites to all HR teachers and Amira Test Examiners.  Please help create a smooth testing session by doing the following just before support staff arrives to administer Amira to your class:
  1.  All student Chromebooks distributed on student desks
  2.  All Chromebooks turned on.
  3.  Amira Test presentation (emailed by MCP) displayed on your View Board.
  4.  IF you have privacy folders in your classroom, these are up prior to support arriving.  IF you do not have privacy folders, they will be brought to your class.

PTA MEETING & 5TH GRADE TALENT SHOW, 4/28 @ 6PM at the MMS Auditorium
Certified staff should attend the final PTA Meeting of the year.  Our talented 5th graders have prepared a great Talent Show!

Q4 PROGRESS REPORTS, DUE 4/29
Reminder!  Review the email sent by Lindsay on 4/21 regarding Q4 Progress Reports. Students on the retention list must receive a progress report.

EOG - LET'S GO, 5/1-5/12
Please review the important reminders below as we get ready for EOGs!
  • Tuesday, 4/28 @ 7:40 AM - Make-up EOG Test Examiner Training for staff members who missed the faculty meeting.  Calendar invites were sent if you are required to attend.
  • Tuesday, 4/28 @ Planning:  All 3rd-5th grade teachers and EOG Small Group Test Examiners will meet to review test examiner directions and test accommodations and answer final EOG test administration questions.
  • Wednesday, 4/29:  Classrooms will be checked to ensure content is removed or covered.
  • Friday, 5/1:  EOG Secured Practice begins at 8:30 AM.  EOG Small Group Test Examiners should pick up students at 8:30 AM.  
  • Friday, 5/1:  Adjusted Specials Begins!  The last day for Adjusted Specials is Tuesday, 5/12.  

  • Monday, 5/4-5/12:  Adjusted Master Schedule - for content area times to protect Reading SG instruction for K-2 students until 5/13.

SUMMATIVE CONFERENCES

WSSN!  HOW CAN I ACCESS THE WSSN EACH WEEK?
We have created a show page for teachers to easily access WSSN each week from your ViewBoard.  Follow these steps to create a shortcut to keep the show page one click away:
  1. Open the WSSN Show Page
  2. Click 3 dots on Google Toolbar
  3. Choose Cast, Save and Share
  4. Create Shortcut (It will appear on the Desktop)
  5. When you open the Shortcut, click on the Monday morning date to access WSSN for that week!
  6. Watch with your class. :)
STAFF ABSENCE REMINDERS!
There are THREE steps to follow, if you are going to out unexpectedly.
  1. Text both Carla and Lindsay.
  2. Fill out Employee Leave Yellow form (DIGITAL FORM HERE).

LAST WEEK & WE'RE SHIGNING BRIGHT!!  This week, was filled with Dahlonega, Field Days, EOY Parties, Blue Ridge, and more!  Next week will be fast and furious!  Get some sleep this weekend - we will need to be ready for all the honors day celebrations and annual walks (5th, 8th, MHS Seniors!). 12 days of Holiday Cheer!

It's our favorite time of year - Holidays in the Hive!  We love surprising you throughout the month with littles treats and treasures to bring you holiday cheer.  Some teams began the off campus outings today, with more scheduled next week.  We hope you find you find the time for team fellowship to fill your cup. CELEBRATING YOU NEXT WEEK!  As we move into the busy spring weeks, know how grateful we are for ALL you do each and every day.  Our school is served by THE most dedicated professionals, working tirelessly - together - to provide the very best instruction for our students, to love each child, and create the most magical elementary school years for our Stingers.  While we appreciate you every day, next week will be filled with some extra special treats.
