All HR teachers should display the Sneak-a-Peek slide in their classroom found on our Staff Schoology Course or HERE. This slide includes the QR Dismissal form. ALL families MUST complete this dismissal at Sneak-a-Peek for EACH child! Please be sure to remind families as you meet them.
Other handouts you should distribute at Sneak-a-Peek include:
- Dismissal QR Codes (specific for each student) - IN TEACHER BOXES TODAY!
- Be Prepared for
Dismissal
- PTA Flyer
- PTA Room Parent Sign-up
(one per classroom)

- Know how every student is going home! On 8/3, we will provide you with a printed dismissal roster for the first week of school. After Sneak-a-Peek, HR teachers will email families that did not complete the dismissal form during Sneak-a-Peek. An upated dismissal roster will be passed out to teachers on 8/4. Our transportation team will visit every classroom to deliver student transportation tags.
- Every students eats lunch! Arrive to lunch on time. Pre-teach cafeteria expectations (see slide show below). Teachers eat lunch in the cafeteria on 8/4 & 8/5. If students need additional support through the rest of the first week, we will notify specific teams.
- Begin & end the day with smiles! Make the first day memorable. One where students leave the first day ready to come back for day two! You were hand selected for every student in your classroom. Be a legend for your students.
- Routines and procedures are explicitly taught, practice, practiced again, and mastered. Teach routines for every behavior or procedure you expect in your classroom, cafeteria, recess, and hallways.
- Review cafeteria and recess expectations here with your students. You and your team can add to these expectations if you expect something above and beyond what we have included. Pro-tip: Review these just before recess and lunch. Continue to review until mastery, re-teach throughout the year when needed.
- Establish your high expectations day one. Hold students accountable to these expectations every day.
- Build community with your students. Your class family will share the next 178 days together - how can you support them in learning to appreciate the unique gifts and interests each student brings to the classroom.
