3-day weekend!!

We made it to our first 3-day weekend - whoohoo!!  I hope you find your weekend plans including time to rest and relax!  If you're not watching college football, may your streaming services be filled with all your favorite shows or movies.

We are half way through Q1 with progress reports due next week.  With just two weeks until Fall Break, let's stay focused on maximizing our instructional time - keeping lessons intentional, engaging, and meaningful!

PARENT 2 PARENT SERIES, 9/9

We are excited to partner with Atlanta Wellness Collective again this year for several of our Parent 2 Parent Series.  This first session will equip parents with learning skills for supporting executive functioning in a play-based manner.  

NEW THIS YEAR!  We will offer FREE child care for all school-aged children - thank you to our SGT for this recommendation!  If you have students or families who would benefit from these sessions, please share the flyer (included in Stinger Stories) with them!

GRANDPALS DAY, 9/11

Our PTA GrandPals Day committee is planning a great event for all our GRANDpals! The committee has worked hard to make sure everyone has a wonderful experience!    HR Teachers received a hard copy of GrandPals day information from the committee (also attached to Stinger Stats email).  Please take time to read this for a smooth GrandPals day in your class!  

  • 1st Grade:  9:00-9:30
  • Kinder:  10:15-10:45 (All Kinder paras assist during Kinder lunch. Give Kinder paras lunch during specials)

OPTIONAL MAGIC SCHOOL TRAINING, 9/14

Distric Tech Coordinator, Joey Glaser, will be in Katy's office on 9/14 for optional Magic School training, if you would like to learn more about how this district purcahsed AI tool can be used to support your teaching and instructional planning.  Joey will be available during Kinder, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade planning times.

TECH TALK WITH MS. VARNER

If possible, please connect your ViewSonic Board to a surge protector(power strip). This can help protect the board from power surges and prevent potential power-related issues.

If you need a surge protector to do this, please email Rhonda by 9/9.  She will place a one time order to cover the expenses for surge protectors for any teacher that needs the surge protector specifically for their ViewBoard.  The surge protector will be labeled for this purpose only.

Q1 PROGRESS REPORTS DUE 9/8

Please read the email sent by Lindsay with directions for preparing Q1 Progress Reports.  All progress reports should be emailed on 9/8.  Remember to email as a PDF.  Complete the Progress Report Record to log the students that received notification for your homeroom each quarter.

VISION TO LEARN, 9/8

This year, Vision to Learn will complete vision screening *only* on all students. Screenings will occur in the auditorium. See the attached schedule to Stinger Stats email. Please arrive to the auditorium with you class on time. Students can bring books to read in between screenings.

If an opt-out form is returned to you, please give it to Nurse Nunez.

PTA MEMBERSHIP DRIVE, ENDS 9/9

All classes will earn a recess popscile party on 9/9! Popsciles will be available for teacher pick-up in the auditorium freezer.

WSSN!  HOW CAN I ACCESS WSSN EACH WEEK?

WSSN will continue to be broadcast on Monday mornings.  News will begin as soon as our enrichment clubs are selected.

It's our favorite time of year - Holidays in the Hive!  We love surprising you throughout the month with littles treats and treasures to bring you holiday cheer.  Some teams began the off campus outings today, with more scheduled next week.  We hope you find you find the time for team fellowship to fill your cup.
