Strong Start to Small Groups!

It was a busy week wrapping up Fall LDA/Amira testing!  Teams also began or made preparations to begin W&W Module 1.  You're diving into new math units and learning how to leverage the new curriculum to support your teaching and student learning.  This week was another reminder of the legendary work you do each and every day.  HUGE kudos to our reading specialist team for wrapping up assessment and data entry for all students in just 8 days.  It's an enormous task they take one with engery and efficiency!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Next week, you'll get right to work with a strong start ot reading small group and STEPS.  We will take some time on Tuesday to review STEPS expectations and provide your team with time to plan lessons for the week ahead.

On Wednesday, you will receive several forms to be distributed at Curriculum Night. Please hold these until Thursday evening to distribute to families at Curriculum Night.

  • Stapled in a pretty packet: Field Trip Parent Letter, Field Trip Permission Slip (get back from parents!), QR code for Field Trip lunch selection/t-shirt size

MARIETTA COMMUNITY SCHOOLS ENRICHMENT CLUBS BEGIN 8/19!

After school enrichment clubs, sponsored by Marietta Community Schools, begin on Monday. You should anticipate several new dismissals throughout the week as student prepare to begin their new enrichment programs. Throughout the week, please be sure to give yourself adequate time to review dismissal changes before annoucements begin at 3:05 PM. The dismissal sheet will be updated to list all students by club/meeting day.  HR teachers will receive a class roster of students register to attend enrichment clubs. All club students will be dismissed to the cafeteria at 3:30 PM.

READING SMALL GROUPS BEGIN, 8/17!

  • 8/17: First day of reading small groups, students learn teacher/group, begin to set early instructional routines. SG teachers will pick-up students from the grade level hallway for the first few days.
  • 8/17: Reading Specialists will send "Meet the Teacher" information home with students, this can go in the daily folder (1st-3rd) or Beeline on Wednesday (4th-5th).
  • 8/18: STEPS Lessons Begin for ALL Reading Small Groups! Refresh on STEPS! & HERE
HR COMPLIANCE ACKNOWLEDGMENT, DUE 8/19
All staff received an email from TalentEd with directions for completing your annual Compliance Acknowledgement.  Please login to TalentEd by 8/19 to complete this task.

This Blocksi Cheat Sheet includes how to limit students to using a specific URL when on chromebooks. This keeps students focused on the task you have assigned. 

CHROMEBOOK LOANERS
Our Chromebook Loaner process will begin on 8/31 after all Fall test administration.  If you have a student chromebook in need of repair, please complete an Tech Request in Incident IQ and leave the broken chromebook in your cart.
