Fall into a great break!

We've made it to Fall Break!!  It's been a FULL week of field trips, 1/2-day planning time, and excitment leading into the break.  September has seemed to come and go - hard to believe when we return there are just three days left in the month!  Take time to rest and recharge during the break!

CONFERENCE WEEK PREPARATIONS
Conference week is right around the corner! Please be mindful of important dates to communicate, schedule, and prepare for conferences.

3rd-5th Grade Teachers - Coordinate with your team leader to prepare parent feedback to share when the HR teacher is not the child's Reading/ELA or Math teacher.

SOR WALKS, 9/28-9/30
Our first SOR Coaching Cycle will begin after the break. This SOR Cycle does include the full eight days (Days 1-3: Walks; Days 4-8: PD/Support).

If you are scheduled for a SOR Walk, Katy sent you an email this week. The focus for our walks and rubrics are below. For each focus area, we will also be looking for 1) Clearly defined purpose for reading/clear teaching point; 2) AMPLE practice! Lots of STUDENT reps build strength!
In addition to schedule walks, Katy and Pascal will conduct "Learning Walks" which are brief classroom visits, that do not utilize the SOR rubric.

MID-POINT ORF & PHONICS SKILLS CHECK, 10/5-10/9
Look for an email on 9/29 from Mary Claire with directions for upcoming Mid-point ORF & Phonics Skills Check.

Q1 MATH BENCHMARK, 10/9
Teams have sent Katy dates for administering the Q1 Math Benchmark.  All data is due into Performance Matters by 10/9.

SOAR BUS SAFETY STUDENT PROGRAM, 9/28 & 10/1
Our district transportation department will be on campus on 9/30 & 10/1 for annual SOAR Bus Safety. Please check the schedule linked below for your class program time. Buses will be parked in the car loop.


HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH PROGRAM, 9/30 @ 2PM
We will have a school-wide assembly on 9/30 to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Please arrive to the gym by 2:00 PM.

2nd grade teachers - Specials teachers will bring your students. Please rejoin your class in the gym at 2:10 PM.
1st grade teachers - At 2:15, you may begin your planning time and specials teachers will supervise your classes.

PTA SILENT AUCTION, TEACHER EXPERIENCES! DUE 10/8
Our PTA Silent Auction Committee is begining to prepare for a wonderful Silent Auction event. This year, the Silent Auction is in November to avoid th busyness of the holidays. Our most successful items are the Teacher Experience Items! Please submit your Teacher Experience Items at the link below. All submissions are DUE by 10/8.
