FULL November!

It's a FULL November.  Support each other as we move through the next few weeks.  There is a lot on the calendar, but with intentional planning there's still SO MUCH instructional time to support student progress.  Hopefully, Tuesday gave you the opportunity to plan for the upcoming weeks.

2 weeks until Thanksgiving Break!
15 days for small group before Winter MAP!
Make every day count, make every moment for instruction count!
You've got this!

UPCOMING PLCs

  • 11/10 - K-1st Grade: Encoding Data Review & Letter Formation; 2nd-5th Grade: EOG Text Interaction Item Types
  • 11/12 - Grade Level MTSS Meetings
  • 11/17 - MLT Redelivery
CAFETERIA AUDIT
Next week, our Cafeteria will undergo an audit which will review the implementation of district required procedures for school nutrition (ex: charge procedures).  We know Mrs. Sharlene will do a wonderful job!

Please note that district procedures DO NOT allow the cafeteria to charge breakfast meals to ANY student.  This means, if a student does not have funds on their account they CANNOT receive a breakfast.  If your own child receives breakfast at school, please be sure they have funds on their account to receive this meal during the audit period.

UPCOMING SOR WALKS, 11/16-11/18
Our next SOR Walks will occur November 16-18.  Please be mindful this comes just before Thanksgiving Break.  By 11/10, Katy will send email notification to the teachers who will be included in SOR Walks.

The focus for the next SOR Walks is listed below.  All teachers should review the rubric for these areas to ensure planning aligns to the focus for the walks.

K-1st Grade:  Phonics or Fluency Standard 5.0 - Fluency
2nd-5th Grade:  Text Comprehension Standard 7.0 - Text Comprehension
  • Select activities (text structure, graphic organizers) that help students strengthen text base understanding
  • Use questioning to support mental model while continuing to push students toward deeper thinking about what they are reading
  • Intentionally plan questions that help students build their situational model during small-group instruction and read-alouds

QUARTER 2 PROGRESS REPORTS, DUE 11/18
Look for an email to come from Lindsay regarding Q2 Progress Reports.  All progress reports are due to families via email by 11/18.  Teachers should update the Progress Report record to note the students who received a progress report.
